BHP Billiton-Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) to stop production at its Norwich Park coking coal mine in Queensland, Australia because the operation has been losing money for several months.

Shares of Randgold Resources Ltd. have risen approximately 7% on the New York Stock Exchange after the company said its gold production had not been hampered by political unrest in Mali, West Africa.
